Marine Tennis Club - Over 16's Adult Tennis Club

Marine Tennis Club was founded over 50 years ago and was based at Victoria Park in Paignton for many years. It is a well established adult (over 16) members club and is run by members for the benefit of members. The club has recently amalgamated with Cary Park Junior Club to provide junior members with the opportunity of participating with adult members when the Head Coach considers they have reached a suitable standard.

The club is managed by a committee which is elected annually at the AGM, the current committee are listed below:-

• Treasurer - Sheila Thomas
• General Committee Members - Tim Allnutt and Peter Palmer.

There are approximately 70 members and the club is affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association. Currently we have only one league team competing in the South Devon Summer League, but additional teams will be entered in future years providing there is sufficient demand by the members.

Adults of various standards are welcome to join our club, however we do recommend that beginners join Group Coaching Sessions before becoming a full member.

Communications

Each member receives two mailings each year. One in February, with the invitation to attend the AGM, and one in March, with the summer starting date and details of any changes to the committee or subscription rates passed at the AGM.

Club Times

• 10am to 12am every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday - all year round
• 6pm to 8pm every Monday and Wednesday - summer only
• Winter play under lights - Floodlit courts are available to Marine club members Wednesday and Thursday evenings by arrangement

Complaints/helpful suggestions

Members should not hesitate to approach committee members with any complaints. If we don't know about it we cannot try to rectify the problem. Also, the committee is very keen for members to contribute to the club, so helpful suggestions are most welcome.

Wimbledon Tickets

The club is affiliated to the LTA, one benefit of which is an allocation of Wimbledon Tickets. A ballot for tickets is held and those wishing to enter should place their name on the list which is placed on the notice board in April each year.
